Automatic machines equipped with advanced technology threaten many jobs, and the exception is not – window washers. This profession does not require overwhelming skills, so it is logical to find on the list of those that can perform robots, it was just a question of who and when to make a good enough and safe solution. And it appeared in Latvia.
The Aerones company, in fact, is engaged in drones, and so far, they have produced aircraft capable of extinguishing fires, examining and deflecting blades on windbreaks, and in a similar way, the solution can be applied to window wash. Dron with twelve routers, about 3 meters wide, is fitted with pressure-sensitive pressure hoses (10 to 500 bar), spray guns, and cameras that allow pilots to control and control the operation of this washer.
Aerones says their dron can wash windows on buildings up to (for now) 350 meters. The power supply and the water supply to the aircraft come from the ground, so it must at any moment be an “umbilical cord” connected to the compressor and the source of the current on the ground. But it also allows for long-lasting operation without the need for batteries on the dron itself. In the event of danger, the dron-washer is secured with cable ties connected to the top of the building, so there is no fear that the entire 55 kilograms of heavy aircraft due to failure or adverse weather will fall to the ground.
