YouTuber Zack Nelson, better known as JerryRigEverything, has gotten another phone. This time, in its own way, tested the latest Huawei’s top model – Mate 20 Pro.
As always, testing started from the screen, ie from the test how scratch-resistant it is. There was no surprise in this part, as with most other phones in the market, so Mate’s screen began to damage just under the hardness knife 6.
This is actually a good result, as you can be sure that the screen will not be damaged if the phone accidentally finds the same pocket and pocket pocket. Scalpel is expected to be ruinous for metal parts – speaker grille, phone frame, and device activation buttons and volume control.
But the scalpel did not damage the most important part – the glass behind which the cameras were placed. Using the scalpel, it was not possible to damage the back panel on the chassis. The back panel is textured this time, which helps Mate 20 Pro firmly and safely stand in hand.
The lighter test went well in the first 24 seconds, but in the 25th screen it was released under an open flame and white spots began to appear on it. Unlike many phones with LCD screens where the stains disappeared after the heated place cooled down, this is not the case here. Since the Mate 20 Pro has an AMOLED display, the stains remain permanently visible.
For the rest, Nelson left the bending test. As you can see in the attached video Mate 20 Pro on this test did not go well. Under Nelson’s fingers the front glass was loosened, but the last, textured, glass was held up.
Although the front glass crashed, the screen remained full and the device could be used. As the only problem, a fingerprint scanner appeared on the screen by which it was not possible to unlock the damaged glass device.
