Green energy and the use of renewable sources is something that technological giants like Google and Microsoft are increasingly paying attention. Schneider Electric, which runs Go Green in the City 2019, an annual global student competition, aims to find bold ideas and innovative solutions for smarter, more energy-efficient and sustainable cities.
Namely, this is a competition that has been gathering students of engineering and business around the world for the ninth year in a row. Through this competition, students get an opportunity to win an international trip to the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit 2019, a two-day conference, held in Barcelona on October 2-3. The Summit brings together experts from both Schneider Electric and the world’s digital economy minds, with whom students will have the opportunity to get to know each other, and who will be their mentors, and have the chance to work with Schneider Electric afterwards.
This year, the topics of the competition are divided into four categories in which students can submit their bold ideas:
Buildings of the future
Factories of the future
Networks of the future
Sustainability and access to energy
Teams interested in applying must comprise of two students attending an accredited faculty for business, engineering, physics, computing, mathematics and other related faculties. They must be from the same country or region during the duration of the competition. Each team should have at least one female member, in accordance with Schneider Electric’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy, and the deadline for applications is May 25, 2019.
Therefore, if you are a engineering and business student and you have ideas about a new future and know how to show a more viable side of sustainability and show the connection between social and environmental impacts on the one hand and technology and the business world on the other, this is the right place for you!
