Data leaks have become a common occurrence, and the latter involves over a billion email addresses stolen during an attack called "Collection # 1."
Recently, a list containing 773 million stolen email addresses was published at the cloud service MEGA. In addition to the address, over 20 million passwords have been published, which are preserved in the form of plain text, and anyone can access them. It has not yet been determined whether email addresses are kept in pairs with appropriate passwords, but it is assumed that this is because there is a list of 2.7 billion user name and password combinations.
The website has enabled the user to check whether their email address is on the latest list of leaked data. In addition, users who suspect that their email has been compromised can also check the list of stolen passwords, in order to change it if it is in the Collection # 1 list.
