Apple has been making short films for some time, in order to emphasize camera functions and premium models. The last in line is a three-minute clip that follows the athlete from Samoa.
The main character is seventeen-year-old Eddie Siaumau, and the film was made by director and photographer Steve Counts. It’s filmed with the iPhone XS model, and with the help of several add-ons that include DJI Osmo Mobile 2, NiSi Smartphones Filter Kit, Joby GripTight Pro Video GP Stand and FiLMiC Pro. With a series of American Samoa recordings, the film follows the training of a young athlete who comes from areas from which many famous athletes come.
Apple’s film marketing campaign has proven to be quite successful, and with the advertisement, the interviewers get artistic footage that tells a story, and in addition to information about the camera, they transmit other important messages.
